An unlocked 465 *is* a 470, there's no difference. They seem to require slightly higher voltages to reach the same OC's as 'real' 470's, but this is really just an anecdotal observation, not scientific fact or anything.

Personally my guess is that if you buy a new 465 at this point in time that unlocks, it's really, truly a 470 in every way. I think there's a glut of 470 cards right now that vendors like evga are trying to get rid of, and I think they're rebadging them as 465's cause they are only allowed by contract w/nVidia to sell 470's for > a certain price, whereas they can sell 465's for a lot less and get rid of this glut of cards.

Thanks guys! That is great about the temps, was expecting normal 470 temps. If it becomes an issue I can get the Gelid, which will still put me below regular $ GTX470 .

Brettjv - I had some similar thoughts about that. Looking at the pictures it does indeed look like a regular 470, with the 570 and soon 560 coming out it would make since to clear out inventory of the 'hot' 400 series. + to the consumer.

Finally got my Card!! well actually it was sitting for a few days...

Anywho... plugged it in, flashed it to eVGA 470 BIOS (regular). Currently installed 260.99 drivers, d/l for new beta was piss slow, will do that later. Works great, no probs at all.

HW monitor reading .88 v at idle, and .95 at full load. Not checked afturburner yet.
@ 70% fan: idle is ~40'c
Company of Heroes at 1080p ultra settings 16CSAA = 55'c load
Medal of Honor at 1080p max settings 4 AA = ~56'c load (not sure if DX11 kicked in)
Crysis Warhead at 1080p 4 AA, Gamer settings + textures, object detail, shaders set to enthusiast = 96'c at load.

I'd say not too bad. Fan at 70% no louder than my old 9800GTX+ at 80%, just a lot of air moving. I'm happy for $150 bucks. (cheaper than my 9800 was when i bought that!)
