[NEO] Windows 8 Milestone 2 already compiled - Page 6

There's a lot of little annoying things that changed from XP to Vista though, that were improved with 7. It doesn't even seem like an upgrade to Vista, but 7 feels a lot smoother (and the new taskbar is nice). Other things (though I believe a lot was addressed in Vista's service pack) like UAC were more poorly done as well.
The UAC is the only downside in vista

The new taskbar in W7 is HORRIBLE for multitasking. I usuallt have 3-6 windows of my browser open. It takes FOREVER to switch between them when it took a single mouse click in vista...

You can change that. Right click taskbar > Properties.

Snap is easily disabled as well. Control Panel > Ease of Access > "Make the mouse easier to move" or "Make it easier to focus on tasks" > "Prevent windows from being automatically arranged when moved to the edge of the screen"

^This, you can set it to unstack windows (except when over-full). And given that you no longer need the quick launch bar hogging up space I love it.

Most of my point still stands. There is NO reason to hate vista. W7 = vista with a pretty interface + DX11. NOTHING more... Vista was perfect....

(I've been friendly with you in all other posts, don't take offense)

It clearly wasn't perfect when MS had to go for Windows 7 and doitrite.

I do have to bring up, though, that Vista doubled XP's launch sales.

Within its first month, 20 million copies of Vista were sold, double the amount of Windows XP sales within its first month in October 2001, five years earlier.

I never take offence in a reasonable argumetn

Most of the things that made vista flop wasn't vistas fault at all, instead, a lot of the problems were the result of poor third party support, which isn't vistas fault, but the developer of whicever program had poor support. After a couple of years vista matured and it was great.

Also you should check your usercp... I appreciate any help I can get

Done. And yea, I agree that the driver support for Vista was horrible. I can't say if it's improved since I moved onto 7 the minute I was able to get it in July 2009. (RTM version)
