Going crazy, can't get over 210mhz?

I'm not new to overclocking, I've been around for a while and overclocked a ton of AMD's over the years, but I haven't done it in about a year now and forgot a lot.

So I went in the BIOS, tinkered around, ran CPU-Z to remember everything, and started clocking. I started with all stock settings

DDR 800
HT 1000
HT 11.5
FSB 200
Stock Volt (1.25)
Which equaled about 2300mhz

then I went to 205 FSB. The HT was getting a little high of course and same with the RAM. So I dropped down to DDR667. Everything was dandy, and I had much more overhead. But I remembered I had to keep the HT link around 1k which was stock. So I dropped it down to 800Mhz in the BIOS. Everything worked good, HT speed dropped, and I went to go raising the FSB. Went to 210. Computer won't boot, had to do a hard CMOS reset. I thought maybe the volts were low? Raised to around 1.3. Same, fail, hard cmos.

Am I missing something here? Has things really changed since my old Athlon XP and 64 lol?

I am unfamiliar with your computer but if your chip is BE it means it has an unlocked multi so try overclocking with just the multi?

You know something funny, I can't find the multi in the BIOS. This board is a good board, but everything is labeled and organized like crap so it makes it hard to just find the multi. >_< If I go to the frequency section, it only allows me to adjust the FSB.

And yeah, I built the rig a long while back. I know I got the CPU for a reason, but I forgot why. I could have swore it was because it can OC well but I forgot

Maybe that was the reason I got it, the low stock voltage. But I mean 210FSB, that's like, negligible.

I bet the Multiplier is called 'CPU Ratio' but even then if its not BE, I cant remember what non BE ones go to.
in his system it says "AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400". When i see BE I assumed that means black edition because mine is a BE.

after a quick search its not a black edition cpu.

also found this on newegg when searching for your cpu:
pros: On the upside I was able to OC my 4th one of these CPU's to 2.9ghz with 1.35v and it did run stock at 1.125v ( which was nice but I never intended to run it at stock : )

Cons: On the downside my first 3 did 3.1 - 3.2ghz on 1.35 - 1.45v This is no Fault of NewEgg or the CPU as OverClocking is 100% luck of the draw so you should never give an item a negative mark if you get even a mere 10mhz more than the stock speeds.

might help u oc?

Put some vcore to it. We've had those to 3.0-3.2GHz @1.5v on air plenty of times. HT will be ok to 1200-1400 too.

BE on those = Business Edition. They're cheap X2 workstation processors.

I always thought the HT had to stay low, although that is just for stability as HT speeds won't fry anything idt. It's been a while. I just updated the BIOS to the latest version, going to IHOP, then coming back and trying to OC. I may have read the vcore wrong, it might actually be 1.125 but not 1.25 lol. I know with CoolnQuiet on, its like .95 lol.

My stock idle/load is around 18/25 so I definitely have some headroom haha.

And yeah BE's are blacks, they're business. They run on low voltages, low temps, low clocks.
