And yeah, I built the rig a long while back. I know I got the CPU for a reason, but I forgot why. I could have swore it was because it can OC well but I forgot

Only the high-end biostar mobos has a Multiplier.

I have one of these:
http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=972675

It is the motherboard that is restraining the HT reference clocking. Have you the latest BIOS?

Okay so it's the voltages. I finally got it to post with 215 FSB. I had to raise the CPU to around 1.35v, the HT to 1.25, and the NB to around 1.25 or 1.3, I forgot. As soon as I dropped down the HT and NB, it won't post past 205 FSB.

Might just save and upgrade lol.

Edit: 220 now Damn NB really needs some juice on this thing. What's a good voltage to stop at for a normal-use computer? The NB has no fan, just a big ass heatsink. I'm think 1.3/1.35

Edit again: Tried for 230 FSB. Didn't post. Had to up NB and the HT to 1.3v. Really odd, I've never had such a weak northbridge before. I got well over 250FSB, even pushing 300FSB on my old builds.

NB and HT are ok to 1.3-1.4v
Vcore is ok for 24/7 use to 1.5v as long as you can keep the processor cool.

Ok so I reached my limit

HT Volts - 1.25v
NB Volts - 1.25v
CPU V - 1.35v

Bus Speed - 245 MHZ
Multi - x11.5
HT Link - 980 Mhz
Memory - 402 Mhz
Core Speed - 2817.8 Mhz

If I raise the bus up any higher, even 246, it goes into "safe mode" and resets my clocks. I raised the HT and the NB up as far as possible, maximum is 1.35, and it did nothing. I will try to raise the vcore up but I'm pretty sure it maxes out around 1.4. I'm unsatisfied haha. Max core temps are around 40c.

Idk. I'm probably holding off for a while. And now I can't get 2.8 stable. Dropped the FSB down to 245 and calling it a day. For some reason 250 won't post, 255 will. Odd. I am very disappointed this motherboard maxed out quick, it's not even the CPU. I can't up the voltages any higher than around ~1.3 and the NB gets unstable very fast.

Yeah, I didn't do too much research on the motherboard, I just got it insanely cheap from newegg when I was building this rig. I'm just going to tighten up the timings, max out the 8800gs, and call it a day for now. I'm pushing 10k in 3dmark06, I think that is good for this system.
