I was considering the 912, but again that was with me in mind...She'll be gaming on a 21.5 inch LG monitor

Is the res 1920x1080? If so you might as well just grab the 1gb version of the 460. If it's 1680x1050 you could probably get away with a 768mb version.

Also what do you think about grabbing a athlon quad? You could also grab a phenom II x3 or x2 and unlock it for about the same price as a athlon quad.

The X4 635 is a good deal for ~$95. Do consider it and remember the unlock is not guaranteed..if you do decide to go this route.the Phenom X3 should be your pick.

Yeah, I just went ahead with the Asus 460 that BeDuckie suggested. I've thought about getting her a Quad, and even thought of getting her a 555. Would the 555 have better performance over the Rana?

The ASUS GTX460 768Mb runs really well at 1920X1080. At least mine does ( OC to 850 core clock.) But if you have the extra $$ spring for the 1Gb. Either way definitely get a 460. As for the AMD 555 I love it. Unlocked mine to a stable quad core. Thats luck of the draw though so don't base your purchase on unlocking a Black Edition. If your set on a quad core just buy a quad. Better to do that than get a BE to unlock and be disappointed if it doesn't

Yeah I know....unfortunately that's the only thing holding me back from dropping a 555 in her rig, maybe I'll just save a bit more and get her a Quad, at least she wouldn't be needing any major upgrades for a while...
