Modular power supply, vanity? - Page 2

I have a Corsair TX750...I feel your pain (a great power supply, but not wire management-friendly)...

I went for a modular Antec 750..easier to work on my pc with less cables in the way, and enhances the look of my pc through the side-window of my Lian-Li...

Personally I would not repurchase a modular psu if I had what you had. I would just get inventive with some zip ties and custom moldings.

Personally, I love being modular. I will never go back.

I don't have a window, but when I take off my side panel I love the clean cut look. It also makes better airflow and when you update your components its easy to quickly swap them out rather than untangling them.

I feel your pain, too. Fellow 750TX owner here. Have you thought about giving sleeving a try?

I wouldn't consider it vain, but I'd think it'd be a waste of money. You'd have to sell your TX 750 at a depreciated value, spend money to ship it, and buy a more expensive modular PSU. I'd figure you'd probably be spending $30-$50 for a modular PSU.

It's just one of those things where it'd be great to get if you were just starting out, but not really something I'd upgrade to since the cost outweighs the benefits.

I sold a TX750 recently for $65 shipped. $65-75 looks to be about the going rate for a used one.

Thread Starter
Thanks for all the replies guys.

And for the guy who ragged on me for advertising reps, sorry lol, it just seems on some forums, people don't help unless a bit of an incentive is thrown out lol

Anyway, I think what reincarnated and few others said is best: It's great starting out with modular on a new build etc.., but since I already shelled out 100+$ on this Corsair, it would just be such a hit of $$$ on me to sell, rebuy another etc...

It won't even let me post on the For sale threads BTW, any idea why? Says restricted.

Anyway, I will probably just put the $$$ toward a GTX 570 or ATI 6970, then buy the i7 sandybridge later on unless AMD doesn't come out with something neat. Thanks again.

You need 35 rep minimum to post in the for sale/appraisal section.
