Need help on ram

post #1 of 9

Hi amdroids. Just wondering if my setup is safe.
Here's a screenshot from cpu-z:

My DRAM freq is @ 440mhz. I'm using Kingston ValueRam PC2-6400 1GB DDR2 withouth any heatsink. Is this safe? TIA

It's actually better running mems without a heat spreader. I used to have the same ram and ran them at 450Mhz for 2+ years with no issue, by the way I also set my voltage back then to 1.90 volts when I OC'D them. You should be safe with your settings and OC.

Thanks chief ü oh it's heat spreader, not heatsink hehe ty

You'll be fine at stock-not far from stock voltages without any heatspreaders. I'm assuming you're running at 440Mhz (880MT/s DDR) 6-6-6-18, right? See if you can manage 400Mhz(800MT/s) 5-5-5-15.

Ok. How do i set my timings to 5-5-5-15? Do i have to adjust the voltage?
post #6 of 9
You're officially rated 800Mhz 6-6-6-18, however running 880Mhz 6-6-6-18 is a good start, and probably means you could set the timings down to 5-5-5-15 at 800Mhz (where you set the timings depends on your specific motherboard/BIOS).

looks like an unlocked and overclocked 555 be
if it is, just overclock with the multiplier, leave the fsb at 200 so it doesnt clock up the ram

@xd_1771
I was able to set my timings @ 5-5-5-15 @ 1.9v. Is this correct/safe:

What about the bank cycle time(tRC)?

Looks good to me If it maintains stability, set tRC to 20.
You can use MaxxMem to compare memory scores between 800 5-5-5 and 880 6-6-6, though I'm pretty sure 800 5-5-5 would win out.
