That's why I always get mid range GPU's. The high end ones now will be slow in 2 years. So I just get mid range cards every 2 years.

5770 ftw.

Uhh..what? The build quality of cards vary by the model. My MSI R5770 Hawk is nowhere near cheaply made. Who cares about the build quality of a videocard anyway, as long as it works without falling apart?

I'm not planning on upgrading anything in my rig for at least 2 years. Maybe small things such as an addition hard drive and a nicer case, but nothing major.

I belonged to a competive Battlefield community and one morning I turned on Pent4 rig to play our all day battles... My green card was stuttering, a 9400GT. I was annoyed did a quick search to see what my local Best Buy carried, saw the 5770. I did a web search and read some great reviews. I paid 199$ that morning. 2 days later I got a 20% off email coupon for Best Buy. Took in the receipt, they honored it and got 40$ back.

I knew the problem was my older rig so 2 months of online research and budget constraints resulted in the sig rig below.

I have been very happy with this set-up and according to multiple reviews and tests, the 5770 in crossfire are excellent.

Yes, but next time don't buy a GPU from best buy. They still have the 5770's at $199 and you can get them for $110-130.

Put an XFX single slot 5770 in a customers build the other week, nice little card, and only $200NZD.

mid march last year best deal on the 5770 was 189 at the Egg. I paid 199 at BB and ended up getting 20% off... not bad.
