First Time Build: Memory Timing Help

Thread Starter
hey, Just finished my first build yesterday evening. (parts in the system sig) I've done a lot of searching around this site and found a lot of information regarding memory timings but I'm still a little lost...

All of my info is below.

My memory timings seam to be out to lunch to say the least, so at 9-12-12-30-2t I feel like I can do better but I really don't know where to start.

I ran memtest first thing this morning everything is fine. So I changed from 2T to 1T here the results...

2T

1T

Where do I go from here? do I just pick a timing and lower it until memtest fails? Please help thanks
-Rod

O mai
1333 9-12-12 gets you a massive latency and low bandwidth... so low it makes my eyes hurt
You need to set your timings manually to the XMP settings of 1600Mhz (x8 memory multiplier) and timings of 9-9-9-24-33-1T. I predict you will see at least a 1.5GB/s improvement if not more.
try putting in the timings (in your bios) that your memory is supposed to be at like 9-9-9-24. It should have been written on a label on the packaging or on the side of the memory. the timings you have in now, can't be right.make sure that you have the correct Mhz and voltage correct too

This memory is a potent overclocker, people on OCN have pushed it to 7-8-7 before
Try and raise the NB clock (and CPU-NB voltage with it as needed), you may see a big increase in MaxxMem.

we have a wooden stove were my computer is and its killing my OCing with the heat its putting out. Also need a new CPU cooler before I continue increasing any clock speeds.

Currently in the process of Installing a new Spinpoint F4 I received today. But I up'd my NB clock yesterday, I'll post an update in a bit.

How to do go about lowering these timings? Do I just change one at a time? and run say memtest?

Does anyone got a good getting the maximum out of there timings?
