How to configure BOINC specifically to use only the CPU?

Thread Starter
I looked through the guides and couldn't find anything on this, so hopefully one of you guys could help me.

Here's an overview of my issue:

I just put together a second box dedicated to computing projects such as this. I'm going to use the 8800GT exclusively for folding. However, I saw the progress the BOINC team is making and would like to dedicate my 8600GT and my e6400 to the cause.

While I know how to configure BOINC to only use the 8600GT, my question is how do I set up a second process that will only use my CPU?

Go to the actual project page of the project (not the BAM page) and log in with your account details. Then find the link that says something like:
Change settings for THIS project

Click that and you will see the basic settings for that specific project. Click "edit" and then deselect the "GPU" options, so that ONLY the "use CPU" option is selected.

Then save it and in your BOINC client manager, go to the "project" tab and click "ipdate" for that project.

It will update and your new saved settings for that project will be used, which is only CPU and no GPU

Alternatively (and prolly much easier) is just to find a BOINC project that doesn;t have GPU support - then it will only use your CPU
