1155 questions

Thread Starter
Hey guys. Just wanted to know a few things about the new intel sandy bridge cpus.

Will current 4gb 1156, am2/am3 ram work well on 1155? and which cpu coolers would be compatible on 1155 (i was thinking on using an Xigmatek).

The main use is for FSX (flight simulator X) which is very cpu dependant and i would be aiming for a stable overclock of around 4ghz-4.2ghz nothing too high.

Thanks

Everything will work. LGA 1155 uses the same hole patter as LGA 1156.

If you are buying the 2600k, use the stock cooler that comes with INTEL. It is actually quite a good one.

Or if you're set on getting an aftermarket cooler, the H50/70's are good cooling and give you a more open look in ur case, the Megahalem/Silver Arrow/VenomX and a few more I dont remember are excellent air cooling solutions, just bigger/heavier.

Most of these perform very close to each other as well.

For the ram you need to make sure its < 1.65v. There are some AM3/LGA 775 kits out there at 1.8-1.9V that won't work.
