RAM tuning
I have just purchased some Kingston ddr2 (2x GB) 1066 RAM.

When I run CPU-Z, it comes up as pc-6400 800-MHz, but only runs at 260 MHz per channel.

Ive tried to turn up the voltages and frequency as well as plyaing with the timings, nothing seems to work, my BIOS won't power down after I tweak it, then it tells me there was a problem due to overclocking and/or overvoltage.

I can't even get it up to 800MHz...

Any ideas/suggestions?

This is normal.
My ram shows up as 800mhz ram in cpuz also.

Now as to why it is running at 260mhz is beyond me.
Try resetting your bios to all default settings.
sometimes it will hold old ram settings.

Thanks. I cleared the CMOS and reset the BIOS to default and I have it running at 890MHz (5-5-5-15) @ 2.3V. Still not the 1066 I was shooting for, but c'est la vie.

Theres still some parameters I haven't played with I'm going to check out.

Thanks, any other input is appreciated.

Well with your setup i don't know exactly how it is setup.
But you should have a setting in your bios about setting the divider for the ram.

So you might want to look around for that and see if you can set that up.

When i had my am2 cpu my ram would only run at 800mhz, now with my new cpu, i can run 1066, but with my overclock i only run 1000mhz.
