Please remember no fans boys. Please!!!!

A thought or two.....

For all the M.S.E users:
1) Go to the START TASK MANAGER and go to PROCESSES. Find mse.exe and right-click it. Choose END TASK. Your security went away

2) Outpost Security wont allow that to happen. It "sandboxes" itself. Even Norton protects itself too!

3) Go to START and type msconfig
Go to STARTUP
uncheck your security program under the STARTUP ITEM menu.
Hit APPLY-->Ok.
*****If it allows it, you may want to rethink your security program

****Outpost Security Suite wont allow that to happen either.
First off - You can't start a thread with a no Fan boy disclaimer and then go on to flame people you don't want to post in your thread.

I won't defend the OP, but I will defend Norton.

MSE is lower resources and FREE

I've also used and recommend: Avira, AVGFREE, Avast
Well you are kinda going off older impressions of Norton. Without really knowing much about Norton 10 and 11 which are vastly improved, you aren't adding much to the discussion.

MSE is probably the best free Antivirus. In the last tests I have seen it caught more viruses than AVG, Avast and Avira and it doesn't have annoying ads.

I'm advocating for a fair shake on Norton. You can get the program for almost free during certain sales at Frys, it offers better protection than MSE and it has a ton of features with a much smaller footprint than it use to have.

The Norton sucks thing is kinda old and outdated. They have upped their game, much like Hitachi, but everyone still thinks they are inferior - I did once. If you look at objective reviews and testing, Norton is just as good as a free virus scanner and has a lot of features that you can't get for free.

Honestly I found extreme slowdowns when using Comodo's Antivirus and Defense+. The firewall works great though. I'd pick up another AV program.

You really don't have much experience in the IT security field, do you..
Got an ASA 5505 sitting front of me at work.
