As far as price on keyboards...eh ~$50 if it's SUPER good (comfortable, and backlit), otherwise $25-$30 if it gets what I want done (including multimedia controls)
No both got multimedia controls keys

I just gave away my sidewinder X6 to my friend,i then bought a razer lycosa which i liked the look of but couldnt get used to it when playing black ops.

So i bought a Logitech G15(using now) which is hmmmm....ok-ish.

I gota say ive been sat here thinking.......why the hell did i give away the X6?

It did everything i wanted, macro keys worked perfect, nice backlight(variable level)had media controls and volume and was pretty much bomb proof.

Infact if i see another one for a good price im gona buy one again or swap my lycosa for an X6

X6 id say,its better than my G15 or my Lycosa without doubt.

Obviously if you could get a mechanical with media buttons for right price then that should be priority, the razer widow has been mentioned earlier and they even do a supirior model with backlight(more expensive)

Alright, so the Sidewinder X6 is great, except it has the detachable numpad...which adds a distance and a crack to gather dirt...however it has some nice volume knobs. But I think I will have to pass it up due to the annoying gap.

The Sidewinder X4 looks very good, except I am not sure about its volume controls. Are they function keys to turn the volume up and down or is there media player keys built in without functions...or neither?

The Lycosa Ultimate looks cool, except its volume controls are function keys...which would be better than nothing...I like the ultimate due to the back light.

So I am at a break really between the two...$60 should get either one online somewhere, second hand possibly

Mouses :
I like the MX518 looks comfortable and usable. But people claim it's old...I suppose that doesn't really matter??

The Deathadder looks like it would be my favorite BUT it has the back and forward buttons RIGHT where my thumb would be. Can anyone confirm I won't be accidentally pressing those when gaming? (Typically those buttons are knife and grenades...LOL).

The Logitech G5? I think it is...looks just like the newer MX518...is that the only difference?

Thanks for the recommendations so far. Hopefully someone can quote this reply and answer a question or two, and then someone else can answer the ones unanswered....

Well i think the detachable keypad is a plus rather than a negative, its gives you more options.
I found it more comfortable to be able to get the keyboard and mouse closer and as for dirt i dont let my stuff get dirtyHoover? OCD? DUST?

Anyway thats just my opinion, the X4 looks pretty good as well though.

Knowing what i know now id stay away from the lycosa keyboards they have a nasty problem that still exists where the WASD keys stop working until usb is disconected and reconected, its very annoying when it happens and your stood right near a frag grenade

Again thats just my opinion and hopefully you can take onboard a bit of something from what everyone has told you and make the choice thats right for you.

Dang....so many choices. I do like both of those mice you suggested...especially the Cooler master...but I assume it's not as quality as the Sniper is...I think I may just have to go with one of those two instead of the Logitech...anyone think this is a good idea?

And I do think I will look into the Logitech 110....or Lycosa Ultimate...both are tempting, depends on what prices I can get.
