updating an ASUS P5N-D Bios

Hi,

Hopefully an easy question for you guys this time!

I'm trying to update my asus mobo using the EZ flash utility in the Bios.

Apparently all I need to do is download the file, unzip and place onto the root directory of a USB stick or simply just the C:/ drive. - I should then be able to access it through the utility and update in this way.

I've downloaded the file and placed it onto both the C drive and a usb stick but when I go into the EZ-Flash utility the USB drive doesn't show up and the C drive shows as blank.

Any suggestions? - Thanks

Set your USB Legacy support to ENABLE..

Also your USB might be shown as Unknown,or F ,D whatever you need to find it..

Also there is flashing via AFUDOS utility..

1. Create bootable USB disk with HP Format Tool and DOS Boot files ..
Format it as FAT 16..

2. Then put AFUDOS.exe & BIOS file onto root of USB drive..

3. Reboot and on POST hit F8 button to call boot screen..

4. Chose to boot from USB drive..

5. When you boot to DOS tipe in this command:
afudos /iBIOSname.rom and hit ENTER

6. Wat untill you get message that flashing is done..

7. Restart the system..

NOTE 1: DO NOT INTERRUPT FLASHING PROCESS UNTILL IT`S DONE AS YOU WOULD END UP WITH A BICKED MOTHERBOARD..

NOTE 2: ALWAYS FLASH BIOS WITH DEFAULD SETTINGS IN BIOS..

CHEERS..
