Is there a problem with BFBC2/MOH Engines (MP) ?

post #1 of 19

Ive been having this stupid problem with both BFBC2 and MOH. Both of them are using the same engines for Multiplayer and im sure it has to do with the engine.

So heres the problem. Everytime i shoot someone, i may not get the hitmarker. I can finish half the clip on someone without getting any hit marker. Im sure i saw blood coming out of the body but why are there no damage? Sometimes the player is just 20ft away from me and i shoot his head like 20 times and all i get is blood but not a hit marker. He didnt die and he just finished me off with one shot . This is getting really frustrating. People can just finish me off with a 3-5 bullet and i need the whole damn mag to kill someone? this is really a big bull**** EA.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the engines seeing as many people also use it.
But there maybe a problem with your PC, Internet, or aim. Can't really tell since you didn't give any info other than QQing

Obviously if the other guy can shoot you, then there's a problem on your side.

Funnily enough, one of the things I noticed when I switched from a 5870 to my 480 was that it was definitely easier to get headshots when I played crysis. Maybe it could be a something driver related?

Yeah I've experienced this too. There's some config tweak you can do to adjust the ping compensation for your shots. By default, it adjusts the hit boxes to account for 100ms ping, but your average may be higher or lower.

Here:
Code:
To improve hit registration:
Are you tired of shooting people in Bad Company 2 but they don't take any damage? So was I. One poster on Gamefaqs (spank_thru101) posted a possible solution to the problem so I decided to test it out. Upon further investigation, this was also something you could edit in previous battlefield games.

Basically, add these two lines;

SettingsManager.floatSet GSDefaultLatencyCompensation 0.0450000
SettingsManager.U32Set GSInterpolationTime 45

to your gamesettings.ini and settings.ini file in the BFBC2 folder.
In gamesettings.ini, add them between the lines;

IntroPlayed=1
[GstPersistence]

In settings.ini, just add it to the end of the list. Save both files.

BEFORE YOU TRY THIS, change the value to your general server ping. For me, when I refresh the list, most servers are 31-45 ping. So, I change the values to .045 and 45 for 45 ping.

Say most of your servers are 73 ping, you'll want to change the values at the end of the previously stated changes to .073 and 73 respectively.

Apparently the battlefield series tries to compensate for an average of 100ms ping by default and so the hitboxes appear to "lag behind" the actual player model you're seeing in game. This fix changes it so that the models are where the hitboxes actually are by adjusting to your average ping instead.

Maybe a connection problem? What is your ping? A friend of mine had the same and the latency was causing the problem. Port forwarding solved it totally.

Dosent work for MOH though.

Says in the OP you are :?

Might want to edit your system so people can actually somewhat determine if it is an actual problem or just lack of decent hardware.
