BOSE, Apple, Sony, Coca Cola all make good products, though.

If Coke tasted like crap noone would drink it - and the other three tend to make good, if slightly high-priced gadgets.

Skull Candy... meh.

Love how everyone starts competing and arguing about Apple etc... fun to read . Don't like their computers, but liking the simplicity of the OS etc, but not my style like most of us. I still go for the music players though.

Haha I never said they didn't have decent products. My demonstration was to highlight some of the biggest marketing giants. Coca-cola leading the way, putting both Apple/Sony/Bose to shame. Coca Cola was truly revolutionary when it came to advertising. All of their products are far from being #1 in terms of quality (except for Coca Cola since taste is subjective), but in terms of marketing they are right up there as some of the top companies.

Coca Cola's advertisement have probably being one of the most successful in history, controlling the beverage market for decades. Sony nearly got flogged publicly for their mass marketing/unique marketing ideas (Tagging business walls). etc etc. BOSE is known for producing decent products at prices that even scares audiophiles. Even Apple tax is nothing compared to the Bose tax.

What I was saying is while yes you can't succeed with a crappy product you can be very successful with a decent average product and insane marketing.

Let's see, they revolutionized they way computers look, they revolutionized the MP3 player, smart phones, media creation for the average home user, data transfer, customer service... Hm, yeah, they didn't do anything.

Their computers WILL do exactly what is asked. Bravo for not knowing what you're talking about.

Yeah, we'll see. Though "Think Different" hardly worked for them in the 90's, I think Apple knows where it's headed, or at least has a general idea.

Oh, really? Because googling also turns up billions of results for "PC" related problems. Far more than Apple. And they don't make a real computer? What's a fake computer then? No modern, usable processor? They use the same Intel processors many people on this site use.

Lacking industry standard apps? Let's see:
Office: Check
Adobe Products: Check
Web: Check
Media: Check

And you DO realize that Apple was one of the first to commit to Bluray over HDDVD, right?

Jesus. The amount of FUD people on thsi site spew is amazing. Apple has a place in the market, and whether you like it or not, has been a huge influence on current tech.
As much as i dont like apple, this.

Their Tech is also better, windows is still using MS-DOS , if only you could build an apple computer with windows 7 and make it upgradeable...

Same way Apple is using Unix (1969) while Windows is using MS-DOS (1981)? (FYI MS-DOS is not the operating system in Windows. Windows just happens to have MS-DOS Command prompts for other reasons, think of it as an XP mode except for MS-DOS which is a decades old OS).

Wonder how their tech is better they use the same hardware as PC's... Hmm..

Except digitally distributed movies are noticeably worse looking than Blu ray...

The typical bit-rate on a streamed HD movie from Netflix is ~5Mbit/s... Blu ray movies require 36Mbit/s.

DD won't replace BD unless there is a tangible upgrade; or unless you can download a gigabyte/s, DD won't be replacing anything.

Wait whut? I get the first part, but why would you want a mac and put windows 7 on it. Their tech is the same, but they dont use it to its fullest lol. An SR-2 Build would DESTROY their current $15,000 Mac Pro. Hands down.
