[TUAW]Apple's market cap passes $300 billion - Page 7

Well, didn't this thread take an unexpected turn...

The only thing as stupid as typing out a page long raging attack on a technology company like they've killed your pet dog is typing out a page long impassioned rebuttal like you are desperately defending your mother.

Some of you need some serious professional help analysing how you choose to spend your time. If you were my children I would make you strip down in the front yard and beat some sense into you with a hosepipe. And that would actually be more far progressive and productive than most of the contributions in this thread.

You realize Jobs took it from xerox, and so did Gates. I thought this was common knowledge. Plus. I've seen Jobs at product releases. Not only is that man the worlds largest douche, he's ego is so massive the earth would probably orbit it if it had mass. This alone makes all of his products disgusting.

Apple is Steve Jobs and Steve Jobs is Apple... As soon as Stevie goes, Apple's downfall will be as spectacular as it rise....

Also, inventions are useless if there are no man who know how to use and apply them... Apple is an entertainment company and in no way it it is beneficial to the advancement of humanity....

It is a major problem for people that want to use them for CAD/CAM, since all standards in that sector require ASCII Text. And it seems like an easy thing to implement, seeing that most computers and OSes have been able to deal in ASCII text since it was invented in the 50's - but not OSX. It doesn't matter how they port AutoCAD over, the inability to generate properly formated DXF files will be a deal killer. Not that many Macs have the workstation video cards capable of running AutoCAD.

I could care LESS about AutoCAD and at the end of the day, I'm sure you could care less too (although I'm sure you'll come back with some diatribe as to how important it is to you). This is nothing more than a straw argument like always from you.

I'm just a regular consumer with a passion for techno-gizmos like most people. I don't give a rats ass about AutoCAD like the vast majority of people on the planet. Get real and grow up.

To make a rare on-topic comment, apple may be worth a lot but its actual profits are far lower. IMO it's in a bubble, subject to a lot of speculation from people who see the price steadily rising and want in, thus keeping the price rising.

Marking ins a important part of getting sales. Right now Apple > then all. No matter how good other companies may be if the average joe does not know about it the company with best marketing will get the sale. Take Iphone for example. If someone wants to get a good phone then to them iPhone is the top of the hill.

I see far more commercials for Android phones than I do iphones. WAY more, seeing as how all the major carriers run ads for them. And all iPhone and iPad commercials show is a simple white background with the device running various apps. That's it. No lighting bolts or some moron running through a corn field to check his mail box, or some businessman morphing into a robot.

Don't hate Apple because their ads actually show their products and what they can do. Be mad at everyone else for being so god awful at marketing their gear.

Marketing is important to the livelihood of any successful business, but chalking up Apple's immense success to marketing only is straight up naive. Way too many of you are living in denial.
