Id go with GTX 570 SLi. Crossfire has issues alot of times and while some have succes many more have problems. Plus you got physx from Nvidia which is nice. But it all depends what you do. It can go either way in gaming in which Metro 2033 6970's Barely win where in BFBC2 570's are killer. What do you do?

But even in most instances the 6970 is barely better than the 5870 and in some cases not as good. I think the 6900 gpu's are a fail. IMO the best way to go is one 580 right now and wait for the prices to drop for a second. Theres not much a 580 cant handle!

The best bang for the buck is a 6870 or 50 CF combo. You can cherry pick any review to tell you what you want though.

I ran CF 58xx series with zero issues and ATI treated me very well. I would not have the 460's in SLI if they were not $205 for the pair.

Both nvidia and ATI can have issues with some games in CF and SLI, that is a fact. For a single card I would get the GTX570 hands down. Two cards, 6870's over 570's. This is based on cost to performance.

I think both 570's and 6970's in combo are great though. You cant go wrong if you are ok spending the money.

GTX570 SLI review, look how close the 6870's are for $200 less.

Do not buy an ATI CF combo until you read this

id say flip a coin. i never had any driver issues with crossfire nor with sli. maybe im lucky but id say its the same to me. i guess it would depend on what game youll be playing. some games play better on certain cards but regardless, having two of either will give you significant frame rates
