With HP it's hit or miss. Some people have absolutely no problems while others are hit by the plague. They all have crappy cooling, think who companies like HP, Dell caters to. My moms work buys new dells every 2~ years....why? Their cheap...and for the most part they work alright for a bit. Where else are you gona find a computer with monitor, kb, the whole package for like 500 or less?

They can skim on cooling, so they do. As previously stated, HP tend to load the computer with ram and HDD and advertise based on that. People see the bigger number, they want it.

In the end, you get what you paid for.

No. I checked, it's been in production for 3 days. I thought it 's too long.

So, you ordered it on a Saturday or Sunday right? Maybe a Friday? Sorry. Maybe its just too early for me right now. But the fact that you could not wait a few more days to recieve a higher quality computer to be put together and shipped to you after a busy holiday shopping, exchange, and return season irritates me. At this point I am just gonna /leave thread

Exactly.

Though your moms IT department buys them because of planned replacements. Easier to buy new computers every 2-4 years then to risk them dying. Standard IT proceedure is a computer without a warranty is an accident waiting to happen and is replaced ASAP.

the gateway one has i3 and hd5650 , 4gb for 600 after tax. hp one has i5 but intel hd for about 680. I look at those two. I thought gateway and hp should at least better than Acer which tend to be cheaper than both. I favor gateway due to 5650 , guys. Futureshop and bestbuy in canada hardly has any laptop with disrecte graphics. I was surprise to see a 5650 there . all other laptop has intel hd and i3 for the same price !

I try to get a dell with good graphics. but boxing week dell force into a specific config. Everything must have intel hd. unless you get a xps for 699 which only has a i3 and 420m.
