Mount & Blade: Warband most under rated game ever?

I am obsessed ever since I started playing this recently.

The gameplay is just awesome. I love the learning curve and the actual combat. Love it.

I played in beta and only just got it in the steam sale. My friend who is an admin on their official servers (also played with him in beta) said not to many people play it anymore.

However, there is still modded servers people play on. I tried one out the other day (crpg) but it was basically singleplayer online except you would just be fighting people all the time and then leveling up your character and buying new gear.

Only problem with that is that it's impossible for newer players to be competitive at all since you start with a club and no armor and others who have been playing longer can run/swing and jump higher while having full armor and a giant sword.

Haven't got into the mods yet. It seems there are endless possibilities though. Would love to see a civil war type mod, if it wasn't buggy and done well. I wonder how they would get guns and cannons in there though. Haven't tried multi yet either. Will probably once I get bored with single.

I hope you play singleplayer with manual block on then redface.gif

Ya I play with manual block and manual aim or whatever.

I guess it isn't for everyone but its a game you need to play for an hour or two to tell if you really like it.

amazing game, there is no other game where you can have over 200 players in one battle.

Siege Server is the best thing ever, 200 plus, 100 trying to defend while another 100 attacking the castle with arrows getting lodged in your shield while storming the walls.

Amazing amazing game, well worth the price and then some
Shhh!

I am simply loving the Khergit faction right now.

Rolling around with a 60 man army, half lancer half vet archer, with the "old school" hero config (missing like 2) and easily taking on armies twice the size.

Raiding enemy villages and making mad cash... really want to get my own castle but am scared to attempt a siege with 60 guys...

Khergit aren't all that great at sieges really. They are mostly cav so out in an open field battle they can win a lot. When it comes to seiges though you have to abandon your cav so it can get difficult.

Ya that's exactly what I was afraid of, maybe ill go get with the Swabians or whatever, ditch my troops and make a good army with a few of their knights, then try my hand at solo sieges.

I'll probably save up like 50k and then go do that.
