Overclocking a wrecked Bugatti (Fueled by Spagetti)

Remeber me? The guy who was whining about fermi noise and overheating issue. Today while i was removing the stock cooler on my 480, i suddenly damaged and detached a few resistors. I managed to find 2 of them and solderd them back (Though i guess they got burnt out) However i don't know how many of them fell apart. Now i have 3 questions?

1. Is this card still covered by warranty?
2. Will the card work for 2 years? ( I can't sell it, hence i should at least keep it for 2 years.) Should i expect any unusual experience?
3. Can i overclock the card and still use it for 16 months?

The card is working fine now.

Sorry for the irreverent topic title, i needed to get your attention.

Well I guess you can always try it!

1) I think removing the stock cooler puts you in the gray area as far as warranty. Some manufacturers might honor it, some might not, but legally I don't think they're obligated to honor it because you took the card apart.

2) Maybe. If the resistors are okay and you got them put back in, the card should work just like it did before. Heck, sometimes you can lose resistors and it'll still work, but of course that depends on the resistor's purpose in the circuit.

3) Same as 2.

Probably no warrenty considering you messed with the card.. But if it works now it might last for 2 years.
OVERCLOCK IT!!!!!!!!!!

1 the warranty will be void as the card is physically damaged, no matter how well you soldered them back on the manufacturer will know
2 no idea
3 every card is different so the only way to know is to try

Warranty covers MANUFACTURING DEFECTS, you damaging the card is absolutely not the responsibility of the vendor.

Caveat is if you bought it with AMEX and SOME Visa cards, the credit card will cover accidental damage for up to 90 days.
