hello there,
I have been looking about for the past two days for the rights settings but I haven't been able to OC my cpu from 3.0MHz to 3.5MHz

when I set new settings or this settings I come to windows and its still 3.0

FSB - 1333
Ram - 850
Unlinked
VCore - 1.4
Dram - 2.1
HT - 1.4
NB - 1.4
SB - 1.5

I have 4GB of ram 1GB per slot

I was able to get to 3.6mhz with these settings..

once I rebooted the system was back on windows 7 but windows did not have a theme it looked like windows 2000.
so I ran prime95 to do my first stress test on the CPU and I got the blue screen of DEATH!!!

Oh my, lower that CPU voltage now.
Also, loosen the ram timings.

sounds good.. can you give me some numbers that you think should be ok?

Those mobos have quite Vdroop (Vcore drop under app load)..

What`s your LOAD Vcore in Prime95 or Intel Burn Test as that is much more important than what`s your Vcore set in BIOS..

What is FSB voltage(or a.k.a. CPU Termination or VTT)???

Set vFSB to 1.30V for ocing to FSB 450 up to 470MHz..

CHEERS..

Also you`re running two different RAM kits, one 667MHz CL5 (#1 slot) and other 800MHz CL6 (#3 slot) which will make your OC A LOT HEAVIER..

Also only 2GB of RAM for your system in Win7 is a MAJOR bottleneck..

CHEERS..

That`s better..

Since your system is being hold back by that 667MHz RAM and mixed RAM kits I would recommend you to just upp CPU multiplier from 9x to 10.5x for that 3.5GHz and just add Vcore untill you`re stable..

For stability use Intel Burn Test 20 runs with MAX RAM and if you crash just add more Vcore untill you pass..

As your CPU has unlocked multiplier for OCing your QX9650 via upping multi you don`t have to set anything in BIOS beside CPU multiplier to 10.5x and upping Vcore to be stable @ 3.5GHz..

When (if) you get better RAM (same kits not mixed) then you can try to OC via upping FSB..

CHEERS..
