Another Corsair XMS3 Question. :/

Thread Starter
Hey all, I know there's probably a lot of other threads about the Corsair XMS3 RAM working with AMD processors. But my friend had brought up a good point to me of how the Corsair XMS3 RAM on NewEgg was matched up to be a great choice for the Core i5 and i7 CPU's, which means the RAM might not exactly work so well with an AMD processor. So, my question to all the XMS3/AMD owners out there, how does it work? Will I be experiencing any issues and etc?

Thanks Everyone,
~Snake

Uh.... cliche again but RAM IS RAM. Whatever is said about being a great choice for i5 and i7 CPUs and not for AMD is two words: MARKETING SCAM. To prove it, XMS3 works just fine for AMD builds; I've recommended it often. It can run rated 1600 9-9-9 settings at 1.5V (instead of 1.65V) for some people.

Lol mine has to run 1333 9-9-9-24 at 1.65V, because it's kinda faulty at 1.55V(rated). But, shipping to RMA from my country is as expensive as the RAM now, so, if it starts to fail ill just get new 8GB for like 90$

That is absolutely not normal. Return or prepare for an RMA if you can; no 1333 9-9-9-24 memory should require above 1.5V (or the rated 1.55V in your case).

As I told you, the shipping costs to my country back and forth are like 60$. Remember we have to pay taxes, and the govt control us a lot. Anyway, I don't wanna talk about politics(it makes me rage), but the RAM is cheaper than the shipping costs. Shipping is cheaper overall if you buy various things and putting in a large box.

So, when this RAM fail, I'll just buy a new 8GB kit.

Oh, forgot about that. Sad but I guess you'll have to work with what you have. Good luck!
