6970 GPU on the Carpet? & Fan sticker fell off, can't get it back on! :/

This question may sound really, really stupid, but I just want to make sure everything's all okay.

Well.. Out of curiosity. I decided to go ahead and completely open my new Gigabyte Radeon HD 6970. I handled it for awhile, analyzing the design, how the airflow works and what not. I was doing all this on the carpet, and I left it on the floor for 30 minutes or so. I really hope I didn't cause any damage during this time. I just wasn't thinking. *facepalm.*

I know that static electricity from carpets is not good for electronics, including a GPU.. I don't have my build together yet, and won't for a couple of months.

My main question is, once I'm ready to build my computer, will my 6970 be damaged at all from this? Would it be a bad Idea to build my computer on the carpet? :/

Also, the sticker on the GPU fan fell off , and I can't seem to get it back on. It seems that it was held on by static or something. There is something silver behind the sticker, and at the same time, that silver circle doesn't seem to be apart of the sticker..

What would be the best way to get the sticker back on?

Here is an image of what I'm talking about:

Should be fine. As long as you didn't feel a lot of static while touching the rug, the carpet will not damage it at all.

It's possible but not likely, I've left the bottom part of a number of my gpus on the carpet before and they've all been fine.

Doubt it. I have some shag carpet that I occasionally leave parts on all the time. No real worries unless you're running around it repeatedly with socks on.

Its unlikely that the GPU is damaged from handling it from carpet. And yea it would be a bad idea to build your computer on carpet.

Should be fine but I wouldn't buy parts and then do nothing with them for months, reason being parts can be DOA and it makes things hard to RMA

Equipment today is built to be highly resistant to static damage, unless you were literally trying to shock the card by wearing socks and sweat pants and then petting your cat for 20 minutes I think you will be fine.

There's so damn much static in my room. Hate it. I get zapped everytime I get up and walk, and then touch the metal of my computer desk, and/or the tower, or my bed sheet. I would NEVER attempt to assemble a computer in here. I get nervous switching a part out or any reseating. I make sure I ground myself, but still, always that dread, because of the static in here. I think you would do more damage if the component were actually on and operating, moreso than while it's off and disconnected.
