Can i MIX sli with these different versions of xfx hd 5870?

Thread Starter
I have 2 x HD-587A-ZNF9 model. And i wonder if i could mix these with a HD-585A-ZNFC in SLI?

I read at other forum that there are different design on the fan assembly and that the ZND9 is PCI Express 2.0 and the other is 2.1.

Do i have to flash all the cards do SLI these together?

You can mix them. As long as they are both 5870's, it doesn't matter if one has a different PCIe version since it is compatible with previous implementations (ex: 2.0 works on 1.1 and 1.0).

If you can SLI any model of ATI card my hat is off to you.

Ok thanks!

Can i also mix them with one of this? This has 2 GB. Instead of 1. and eyefinity6 ready.

nvidia is sli, ati/amd is crossfire

and no, the cards just need to have the same first 2 numbers, with the exception being you can crossfire a 5970 with any 58xx card

AMD's(ATi is gone ) Multi-GPU setups are called Crossfire, SLI is for nVidia cards.

Edit: You could crossfire a 5970 with a 5870 or a 5850 with a 5870 or a 5850 and a 5970
nVidia cards have to be the same model to SLI.

I read the topic and thought he was trolling.

OT: As long as both processors are 5870s, clock for clock, you'll be fine. You'll be losing any extras on a second card if the first doesn't have them, though.
