Choosing between different brands of 6950s

I pretty much have my heart set on buying a 6950 but each brand seems to have its own advantage. Which brand seems like the best deal?

Sapphire: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102914

Pros:
  • Comes with hdmi cable and a mini displayport adapter

Cons
  • no discounts

MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1137&SID=194r0

Pros:
  • Solid caps
  • mini displayport adapter
  • $280 after rebate

ASUS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121416

Pros:
  • Aluminum shroud

Cons:
  • Package is pretty basic, doesn't come with many accessories
  • no discount

Opinions are greatly appreciated.

Sapphire because it comes with a HDMI cable and has about 20 reviews compare to the 1 review for the MSI. But some of the reviews says it runs a bit warm and that about the only problem for the Sapphire while who knows how the MSI will run because of only 1 review

They're all the exact same card, bar the sticker. Except the Asus, which as you know has a different shroud.
Beyond that, and the fairly boring accessory bundles, there is no difference whatsoever, same card, same components, same vapor plate cooler.
But if the content of the accessory bundle is really an issue, my old Sapphire came a far more generous bundle (HDMI cable, DP adapter) than my new XFX, which only came with a CFX bridge.

tl;dr Get the one with the sticker you like the most.

The MSI card does come with solid caps though; is that more of a marketing gimmick or actually something useful?

More a gimmick than anything else, as others have said, they are all reference boards.

the shroud should be the same on all of them since reference. The boards will all be the same since reference. I would do Sapphire or Asus because they are better known and have nothing but good experience with them and when you sell them most people would want that then a MSI card.

Alright, looks like I'll get the sapphire card, I hope they are still selling first batch cards. Anyone know when the new batch will start arriving?

You can't expect all cards to unlock equally, but I hope you get one that does!

AFAIK there are no revised cards with the new VRMs and potentially laser cut cores actually in circulation yet. At least the XFX 6950 I got today is unlocked and running flawlessly.

And the Asus card, while reference in every other way, does in fact have an aluminium shroud, versus the plastic of all the other brands. Unfortunately all the retailers here carrying them have an illogical price premium over Sapphire/XFX/HIS.

Newegg "reviews" for the win! I bet some of the people that submitted those "reviews" have even used the product!
To OP: I'd grab the cheapest. If price is equal, grab the Asus or MSI due to the warranty being tied to the serial number. It'll help when you resell it.
