I want to start fixing computers for friends, friends of friends, etc and also building them custom computers. Am I missing anything? (I'm sure I am)

Ask for a budget, primary use, platform preferences, HDD side (SSD?), looks, everything else included (i.e. monitor, OS, etc.)

Updated the list with your posts, what do you think now?

how much ram/what speed, though you can guestimate based on what they're using it for.

is noise an issue? water vs air cooled.

No need for that, RAM is normally not a huge issue to most people but at least be sure to get the best for the price (i.e. 2x2GB 1600Mhz CAS9 is the best performance/value, anything lower scales badly); most people will only need 4GB, only depending on their needs might they need more.

Watercooling is pricey, should usually be saved for high-end costly systems.

Sorry to ruin your day, was just adding on a few things there (I've built computers for friends msyself before, so I figure my full advice is worth something here)

Yeah I figure they won't know enough about RAM to make an informed decision.

"How much RAM do you want?"
"I already told you, 1TB"

In order of importance:

Budget
Intended Use
Style Choices
OS

Everything else should be up to you. That's why they're paying you.
