Newb WC starting Ideas...

Thread Starter
This deals with my sig rig.

At first i thought WC was to extreme for me, that it would difficult, and require maintenance a lot (I actually thought you had to clean the water weekly or something like that).

But, now I wanna go WC.

This may sound very generic, but I am in it for the Silence and Performance of OC.

I want to make use of the top right WC hole on my case. (not sure about he 2 left ones, i think probly not).

I want to use 32mm fans so I get good pass thru on the RAD, but they need to be quiet.

I am not on an extreme budget, but I don't want to throw a lot of money at this.

I'm not afraid to put the stuff togethor (such as custom pieces) but I am not a very tool'sy person (ie. workshop, custom painting, and w/e). My concern here is, do I have to cut the tubes to fit right, and how would I do that?

I have the coolant and growth protection down. But I have no idea about anything else lol

Thank you for all your future help!!!

Thx to Mr. Juggalo I did this draw up:

How bout helping him and reading his thread he wants quiet air cooling wont do quiet and cool.

And to the op sence you dont have a demanding system a rasa rs240 or rs360 kit would serv you well and all you have to get is a silver strip and some distilled water. And yes you gota cut the tubing its not hard i used scisors to cut mine its not perfect but they work. For fans you could get some gentle typhoons good airflow and low noise their 25mm fans.

Seriously? There are many things to say about your system and how its not worth anything but I'm trying to avoid another infraction.

Anyways do you have a budget in mind Kenny?

what about this? http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12...tem.html#blank

my haf 932 can make use of a 360 rad

my budget is iffy, i really cant say for sure. its like $100 + but not more than $200 for the cpu itself.

I really am liking this Rasa kit.

I know that adding in a gpu block is gonna be expensive, but its the loudest part of my case.

Would it be more wise to start off with a cpu loop first then maybe add gpu, or just get all together?

this is to stop the growth: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/11...oir_Strip.html

Cleanest cuts are made by way of tubing cutters, or tubing shears. KwikCut, RIDGID, for example.

I totalyl agree with Bal3Wolf, I really hate it when people say 'You're wasting your money' straight out at the start, it's not helping and people don't wanna hear that.

But anyways.
The Haf 932 is a nice case to watercool, it's roomy and has loads of space for tubing, radiators and reservoirs.
I can tell the reservoir is going to be made from XSPC.

From recent advice by other people the EK 'spin' series of reservoirs aren't very worthit for its premium price.
As Bal3Wolf said before pop in a sliver of silver (haha...) and distilled water and you're all good.
Make sure you 'tie' the silver down in the reservoir or some place though, otherwise it could end up stuck in a tube and that could seriously impede flow rates.

Going for kits is the best option at the moment.
The XSPC rasa kit is nice, there is a club for it I think.
It's good for tight budgets like yours (<$200).

As for the fans, the XSPC kit does not provide thick (25mm+) fans in the kit, the best you can get is probably Scythe Ultra kaze and get a fan controller and tune them down so they're more quiet.

Good luck in your build kenny

Get a grip. That was my opinion it wasn't a criticism against the OP or you. If you wanna make it personal, it's on you.

OP, I wasn't trying to rain on your parade although in hindsight that's how it looked. Personally I wouldn't put in a whole loop because the parts in your sig rig doesn't generate a lot of heat. Yer gonna be putting in 300-400 dollars all said and done and imo I'd much rather use that towards a SB setup or something.

If you were a close friend I'd tell you the same thing but with more funny. Shrugs... but if I couldn't change yer mind I'd tell you that you were on the right track with the Rasa kit and add a Razor 460 block would be it.

get the rasa kit! i bought and installed it. i love it. thing is though, it took me a long time to install. as it turns out my case wasnt designed for 1156 platform. the whole in the motherboard tray doesnt line up, so i ended up taking a dremel and shaving about an inch off the bottom. now idont have to take my mobo out to change a backplate.

but yea, installing the kit takes time. and you can use a knife to cut the tubing as long as it is really sharp. i used my gerber on a peice of cardboard, and the cuts came out perfect. best thing to do is get everything hooked up. Take out all unecessary components: hard drives dvd burners, video cards. Only leave the mobo, cpu, and psu. then once everything is hooked up, kick the wc unit on for an hour and check for leaks.

also rinse your radiator before you install it, using only distilled water.
