No unlocking as far as I know, as for overclocking easiest way bump the multiplier up with some extra volts if it isnt stable...there are guides to help with more detail this is just to get started, i personally bump volts with a slight raise in fsb, raised multi, small bump to nb volt and ht volts and it runs stable with a 29% overclock on mine, yours should be a bit easier as I only have a Phenom I, as for epu engine I have no clue, and diable cool n quiet

your sig says you have it overclocked already to 3.8ghz??

no it does not unlock to 6 core.

to overclock, you have to configure a few things.. but mainly you only have to mess with the multiplier and mess with Cpu voltage and NB voltage.

are you on stock cooler?

Try to push your FSB to it's max, find it's limit and then boost multiplier/voltages to reasonable level.

I would disable cool 'n' quiet if you're gaming.

Yes, you should disable cool 'n' quiet while overclocking. Just turn it back on once you've found an oerclock setting you can live with.

I have somewhere read that enabling unleashing mode unlocks core so I have enabled unleashing mode in asus m4a78 board and message is displayed on starting the system"........all 4 cores working........." and a logo of X4 with upward arrow on it which was not earlier displayed and in AMD overdrive no temps are displayed. It is showing 0C.What is use of unleahing mode.Is there any harm.

I have succesfully overclocked my CPU via AMD overdrive but when i reboots it returns to stock.
And yes i am on stock cooler.
What are max temps for my Phenom

Thanks all for replying.

Max temps are 62c but i don't advise breaching 60c for a 24/7 overclock. Get a new cooler before you start stressing your CPU too hard.

Also, Overdrive has an option to restore settings on reboot but i advise you to just use BIOS as it is far more flexible and reliable.

C3 rev 955 is not unlockable to anything, it's already fully unlocked in a sense
