i7 2600K Build - Page 3

Your build looks good, but I would probably replace the AX750 w/Seasonic X650 and save $35. If you plan to add another 6850 later then you'll still have plenty of power on the other 12v rail to do it.

Yeah that tac vest will take all your components exhaust and push it under the vest throughout the board....

DRM protection on cpu's? LOL?
I was gonna get a sandy bridge cpu but not anymore.
Intel (or any other company) will not choose what i do or don't do with my computer/internet access/ movies.
I don't even torrent movies but i don't give a crap.
Who do this guys think they are?
Poor warner brothers and netflix ,they must be really low on profits (sarcasm).

Guys, stop with the "ZOMG i'm a rebel" thing about this DRM. it only affects 1 branch of media, and you can play any .avi or other files without protection at ease.

From what Intel explained, the DRM contained in Intel's Sandy Bridge chips is only going to kick in during very specific circumstances: only when you're streaming high-definition, late-release content from certain Intel partners.

all intel CPUs from now are gonna include it. you can't stay on i7 forever. there is also a good chance AMD do this DRM thing too.

Now, getting over the "DRM" that doesnt even affect you, the 2600K is a great CPU that will make your worth while.

That sabertooth P67 in my opinion looks a bit weird, but i can imagine it in a full tower case, looking nice!

I have 4GB of 1600mhz ripjaws, and it's all good with them, looks good and keeps cool. don't buy into the "ZOMG THIS RAM IS BETTER FOR AMD", as it's 1.65 volts.
yeah ripjaws are apparently really good, so i would go for them, i'd swap the psu for the seasonic x series 650, and as for 2500k vs 2600k i think the main difference is the hyperthreading, so it depends on wether you use heavily threaded apps or not?? most reviewers seem to be getting just as good if not better o/clocks from the 2500 but with no hyperthreading you would expect it i guess, lookin good though

Thread Starter
So, what do you guys really thing about the Sabertooth? I love it, but if it's going to possible cause damage to my other components without a blow-down cooler, then I'm extremely worried.

Aside from it, what are some other great boards to consider for the same price or less? It must match the rest of my build if possible. (Meaning I don't want a red board for my white/blue case. ^_^) Anything black or black and blue is great. Thanks guys!

Sad but true, I am glad I will NEVER get a DRM locked CPU. I am happy with my Enthusiast 1366 chipset, over that mainstream 1155 garbage.
This is all wrong, the DRM is for Intel's new streaming service they will be offering, you won't be able to rip any of the offerings from Intel but as for Hulu/Netflix/Torrent you're still safe.

As long as you don't plan on using the new Intel streaming service you'll be fine.
