Hi People !

I recently bought an QX9650 + SCYTHE INFINITY + ASUS P5E DELUXE + 8 gb Teamgroup extreme dark pc8500 ddr2, and want to oc this to the top...

4.0 - 4.2 ghz on air

I suppose the use of the 450 x 9.5 that get 4275, what do you think ?

I think you will struggle to manage that. Sounds like a fried chip waiting to happen.

Try reading a few guides and gradually increasing your overclock while maintaining stability.

And watch your northbridge temps, your chipset will probably require additional cooling before you get close to your target.

I think you will need a better cooler for that 130W TDP, cause you're about to burn it. How hot does it get with this cooler on stock under PRIME and under IBT?

I think you can get there just fine with the CPU and mobo, but the RAM will be your roadblock. 450 is a very easy rate to maintain if you have the memory stable at that speed, assuming you are linking the clocks. You aren't aiming very high with 4.2GHz, so dial that puppy in.

Yeah, you are right...
The mem is the "weak point" of my pc...

Mantaining the same mem ratio, is working at 1083 mhz with 450 mhz fsb, fine, stable, but with high voltage, 2.4 volt, i know is too much..

Searching some PC1100 mem to resolve them !

The system is working at 3.9 with a Q9550, (i will mantain at 3825 for daily uses) tomorrow i will switch the Q9550 with the QX9650,and start to overclock them..

My case is Aerocool RS-9:

With two 140mm fan on top, one 120 mm front, one 120 mm rear and another 120 mm on the side, plus one 120 mm on the cpu cooler, so i think there is enough ventilation, if not, i will switch to a water cooler for the cpu..

Q9550 is a 95W TDP while QX9650 is 130W TDP - its a significant difference, but try it and then will see how to help.
