Timings any good?

Thread Starter
Are my timings of 6-6-6-15-21-2T any good? I know they're not the best out there and 2T is not preferable, but how do these timings compare?

Also there are about 20-odd different settings in my memory bios. Any good guides as to what each one does and how to overclock ALL of your memory timings for best performance.

At 1000Mhz, not really; many good, cheap DDR2 kits can actually do better (1066Mhz 5-5-5-15). At 1000 you should be at least at 5-5-5, and preferably your speed should be higher for better latency-bandwidth, etc.

I can get 1333mhz @ 7-7-7. Are these better timings? 1600mhz goes to 9-9-9!

1600 9-9-9 should be about equal or slightly better than 1333 7-7-7 (or 1066 5-5-5). I highly suggest going with 1600 9-9-9 and lowering timings from there.

Don't x4 only officially support 1333mhz - isn't it better to run them at equal or less than that and keep the 2:1 ratio???

Managed to get 5-5-5-1t. Won't boot up @ 4-5-5

Thanks for the advice btw +rep!

True but he's running 8gb not 4gb, the speed hes running at now is fairly good.

Also got a set of 2x2gb HyperX 1333mhz cl7. Been swapping between the two all day. The Hyperx have slightly better timings and can run 1t (have to select it manually) apparently quite stable (have yet to test for stability).

Need to keep one set and sell the other. Don't really need 8gb - thought i did. Can't quite decide.

@ Klinky. It is normal for a set of HyperX to get a little toasty.

Ratios do not matter on AMD: 1333Mhz support is the official rating, but both the C2 and C3 revision x4s can go much further.
