Samsung is glad to announce that 10 million Galaxy S have been sold in the last 6 months. While this is no match for the iPhone who sold 14 million devices in only 3 months, it is a signal that people quickly switch from their normal phones to smart ones.

That's rather a lot.

I was supprised at how big they are compared to my nexus.

Not surprised, the Galaxy S phones are great, even better when rooted. They just need to get off their ass and roll out some updates.

Is the Google Nexus S basically a Galaxy S?

They have a lot of similarities, but if you look at android phones they usually have the same tech specs.

I got my Galaxy S on launch day and Samsung was already promising Froyo in a short time frame and they still don't have it released. If I didn't know how to flash custom ROM's and kernels onto it then I would have swapped it out a long time ago just for the fact that they aren't putting any effort into the update process. They keep delaying over and over and the consumers aren't getting what their promised. I'm loving the hell out of mine right now with Froyo (soon to be Gingerbread once the bugs aren't worked out at XDA ), but without a lagfix or rooting or custom ROM's I would be more than furious at Samsung because after a couple months the overall feel of it felt awful. It slowed down considerably and the lack of Flash support was awful..simply awful.

Despite being on Froyo, I gripe at Samsung every chance I get on Facebook because I know the average user has to be just as frustrated as I was. Due to their lack of customer support/service I highly doubt my next phone will be Samsung..I prefer a company who cares about their customers...

Froyo just got released today. Loaded via kies on my captivate

You can stop blaming samsung now and start blaming AT&T.
Rogers never disabled side loading, but apparently AT&T did.
I had both the AT&T cappy and rogers cappy, and the AT&T one is filled with useless bloatware that turns itself on.
