Mushkin Enhanced Redline

Thread Starter
I'm still looking at memory for my new system. I found these Mushkin Enhanced Redline's with great numbers - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820226120. Are these as good as they look? Or is there something else I should be pairing with my Sandy Bridge computer? Any help is appreciated.

I have three of those in my system and they work every bit as well as advertised. Very nice RAM especially for the price.

Sexy ram but you could easily run something quicker if you wanted to spend the money.

I would like to keep it under $100 for the ram.

good for you, but reality check bro: not everyone cares about synthetic performance, and elpida's are only worth it for benchmark geeks

there's little-to-no difference in real world performance between timings/speeds

for the basic user, that mushkin ram is great, hell even if you went with the $50 ripjaws you wouldnt notice a difference.

honestly i cant even tell a difference between DDR2 and DDR3, let alone DDR3-1600mhz CAS 9 vs DDR3-1600 CAS6

They operate exactly as good as they state they do plus some. I enjoy my set at least.

That link is to a review of the Mushkin 998826, which share the same PSC chips as the 996805 kit that you are looking at. For the money, the Mushkin are a heck of a good value.

Another kit using the same ICs is this OCZ kit and it is a little cheaper ($65, shipped). Note the DDR3-1600 / timings of 6-8-6-24 and voltage of 1.65v...that is the clue that you are looking at PSC based modules.

Or these GSkill (still under $100):

Again, same timings and voltage at DDR3-1600...all PSC based.
