There is any new modding guide to put backlight at you KB?

Thread Starter
Hi there! I'm newby, i try the search but i didn't find anything. The thing is, there is a post about "How to make your keyboard iluminate", but it there since 2005. What I want to know, if any new guide or that one still being ok?

If anyone is lost about which post i mind, this is it Keyboard Mod Guide: Final Version

I've to say, what I want to mod is a minilaptop, specifically the Acer AO-D260 model. Maybe it's not a good idea, or i don't know you haver free will, say what you fell about this. A better solution or something.

Well, thanks for you help! For reading at least :-)

Seeya! Take care...

I doubt it will work.

Actual backlight keyboards have clearish keys; other wise the "backlighting" is really just LED's that ruin your night vision and get in the way. Look into if the laptop can come in the backlighting variety, check e-bay, and install one of those.

Laptops have extremely thin key throw, so there isn't really any space for the LED's.

What you can do is the very useful lighting method Lenovo does; and mount an LED in the lid to throw light onto the keyboard. This lets you see the keys, any paper you have, and does not shine in your eyes like more powerful backlighting can do.

There is a Backlight Keyboard Mod stickied in the old Peripherals Subforum. Not moved yet.

Mods are a bit slow here.

This is only useful if you know Korean. I.e. it is not very useful. Nice pictures though.

Btw Ripster, I think I deserve to win that Geekhack pole because I made them talk about Japanese genitalia without even being there. That has to count for something.
