Can't play DTS-HD or DTS (Auzentech Prelude, Z5500) - Page 3

I'm not trying to connect to my Z5500s anymore (sorry for confusion) I just want a future proof card that will allow me to bitstream dts-hd in the future. From what I understand though using an AMD/ATI card would be a great if not the best solution for this.

Is that through mutlible coaxial cables? A coaxial/SPDIF cable is limited to around 8-10 Mbps where DTS-HD/DTS-HD Ma uses anything from 16-25 Mbps. I'm not sure how they can force that high of a bitrate through a 2 channel audio cable (unless you are only dealing with 2 channels?).

I used to own a Xonar HDAV1.3 my self and I know for a fact it will do Full analog blu ray audio without being downsample just like Auzentech card. Both are the only two cards that alloud Full blu ray audio thru analog. As I mention aslong you use the players which support each card Function for it.
I was going to suggest the HDAV 1.3 but after a second look I couldn't find information on their site saying DTS-HD Ma specifically. Good to hear that it supports it.

As for the Auzentech, is it for sure down sampling? I know that is what normally happens but I thought with the Auzentech DTS doesn't exceed the bandwidth of the coaxial/SPDIF where it is able to send 5.1 compressed channels through a 2 channel signal? After all, it is only a digital signal where the output should be able to properly decode into 5.1 channels. I thought that was the main reason they updated the original coaxial cables bandwidth.

If the ASUS AV 1.3 is able to do HTS-HD for sure like one of the members sated from experience I think it will be the better option. So far I've been running into problems using the graphics card to do audio-out while having the screen connected through DVI-D. If your new monitor has an HDMI in and HDMI audio out, ya, ATI HD5000+ / AMD HD6000+ will be the best option. Unfortunately, Nvidia doesn't have the same support for the audio-codecs. Not exactly sure, but I'm aware there is something missing with Nvidia cards for audio-processing.

yea the Auzentech X-Fi HDMi can do blu ray analog too, you just gotta use powerdvd 10.
