The Xpower has a x1 up top slot just for the soundcard, so it won't take up any x16 slots.

Yeah, I think 4-way Sli is over the top, even for me But who knows, I may surprise myself! I can do 3 way with a 1200 Watt right?

Yeax2. The stock one is better than typical onboards, but an Xfi or something is better for sure.

One last question, the guy that's installing this for me just called and said when the motherboard is mounted to the risers on the case, the backplate with the USB ports won't line up. When it's mounted directly to the case it lines up perfect... is it ok to mount the motherboard directly to the case?

Normally that's a definite NO because you could damage the board, short it out/etc. I've no clue why it wouldn't line up. I had no issues with my 700D.

Yeah, I am happy for now. I figured a new motherboard was in order to get the USB 3.0, better 1394 Chipset and better quality overall for SLI spacing. Next stop may have to be TriSLi!
980X/970 is much cooler clock for clock. At 4.5GHz, my temperatures don't even go into the 70's. All my other chips hit 70C at about 4.2GHz.

Well, that's encouraging. I"ll be fine with 4.0 so now I'm looking at guides to OC it. I'm thinking of just raising the multiplier and raising the Vcore to around 1.3 and seeing if that'll give me the temps I'm looking for. Thanks again.
