Some cases already have raised bumps to serve as risers.

He called again and said he worked it out... I'm not sure what happened but I really didn't want to have to go and buy a new case. I'll cross my fingers now and hope I don't have to format the boot drive with this change of motherboard and cpu.

Optimal for 4.0 will be either 200x20 or 160x25. That way you can use either the 8x or 10x memory multiplier for 1600MHz.

Mine hit 4Ghz on stock V, but I didn't test the stability of that for a long time, 1Hr, so it might take a bump or 2, but not much.

Currently my settings @4672 are: 133x35

Vcore: 1.42 (80c in IBT, but my HF Supreme is otw)
QPI: 1.32

What's the stock voltage on these things? What Voltage would you suggest I try for a 4.0 O/C? Thanks...

Would it be ok to just leave everything on auto but ram timings, ram voltage, cpu mulitplier and voltage? That's what I do on my rig now. Of course, turn off all the intel c1e, etc...

Start a 1.3V and work your way down. It should end up around 1.2-1.25V.

1.24v, don't quote me.

Edit: I am an Intel HT non-believer and thus the first thing I did when I installed it was remove all the Intel tech, including HT, in the BIOS. This may have been the reason I got stability at Stock 4Ghz.

That's with HT on right? On my 950 I couldn't get it stable at 4.0 with HT on until I hit about 1.33... Although, that may have had something to do with the P6T and 12GB Ram from what I've read.

You guys are looking for the VID. It changes for every chip, though most seem to be around 1.225-1.275.

That's because 950's are junk. I've had 3 and they were all terrible. This chip is also 32nm, verses the 45nm of the 950. That means less voltage per clock.

No, without HT, I don't use anything that benefits from HT, so I disabled it from the jump.
