Gun to my head: 980x vs 2600K - Page 10

I haven't seen anything yet, but if you sold some things and returned a few others you could make out pretty well.

I haven't seen any 4.0 or 4.2 comparisons yet because SB is blowing by those numbers and people aren't stopping to do clock vs clock comparisons right now. I'm sure they'll turn up soon though.

As far as tri sli, the only way that's possible is on a board with the NF200 chip. No solid benchmarks on that for tri sli either, however SB does offer twice the pcie bandwidth of 1156.

With the NF200 you could run tri SLI gtx 580's, but there would be a slight lag. It remains to be seen if since the SB chips can push the gpu's faster than the chips before it (outside of programs that support 6+ cores/threads) and if that will make up the difference in gpu performance lost to the NF200 chip vs x58.

As soon as I see some I'll be sure to link you to them.

Haha, you are relentless. Again, I am completely satisfied with my decision and I still believe that the 980x and MSI Big Bang is a superior setup when it comes to audio production and tri sli. I don't plan on going to 4.5 but thank you for wishing me good luck. I know it's crazy but I'm satisfied with my 980x at 4.0 GHZ. I'd rather keep my CPU idling at 26C and 60C under 100% load prime than raise the temperatures and voltages significantly for a few 100 more MHZ.

Again, money was no object so saving a few hundred dollars was far from my concern.

lol, thats cool I can see that.

Personally I buy what works, not what has the biggest price tag.

But to each their own, am I right?

You should look into dual chip server set ups, I see them hitting 13+ in Cinebench for about the same price as your chip.

Grab an SR-2 and dual xeons 6/12 chips, kills what you got now, money haha, who needs it!

Upgrade your H70 and you'll see better performance, $60 performing cooler on a $1000 chip just seems wrong.

Here is what I get with my cooling:

Let me know if you want some info, I can get you started.

Thanks again, I'm not sure you're understanding me. I am happy with my upgrade that I just bought 3 days ago. I'm not looking to sell something that I just bought 3 days ago.
