Bad sectors, Help

Thread Starter
I am trying to fix this laptop for a friend and they are on a time limit. I have run a few tests including hdtune, chkdsk, and the dell utility. All found errors and chkdsk won't even finish past 67% (tried it with the fix errors option)

I am trying to fix this without having to reformat or replace the hard drive, does anyone have any ideas on how to do this?

If there isn't any other option would a reformat fix this? I got mixed answers else where online.

Replacing the hard drive will be a last result that I really don't want to do :-\\

And I cannot access that log file ^ it says im not permitted
