AT&T CEO Ralph de la Vega and Motorola CEO Dr Sanjay Jha kicked off the 2011 AT&T Dev Summit by announcing the carrier’s first 4G smartphone, the NVIDIA-powered Atrix 4G. Don’t call it a smartphone, at least not around here – NVIDIA is talking about the new wave of superphones powered by Tegra 2, and rightly so. Packing a dual-core 1GHz processor and a full gigabyte of RAM, Atrix is part phone, part laptop, part home entertainment hub. Or at least it looked that way onstage …
Wow.... Interesting what phones have become.

EDIT:

Here is the Motorola Atrix 4G on AT&T's website.

It will be very interesting to see. From what people are saying, they think that Nvidia Tegra chipset might be inside. That would be able to output 1080p from your phone. Now that's crazy.

Gets 1 hour of standby time, or up to 4 minutes of talk time!

*want*

Anyone have any estimates what battery life will be like on something like this?

I just wanna one-up Product Development with his Overclocked Droid X...

It was just announced today. I highly doubt there is any numbers on battery life as of yet. AT&T just had their announcement a few hours ago.

It should consume less power than current Snapdragon processors. If you want to esitmate battery life, look how long a Zune HD lasts with WiFi on. It's the closest to guessing how good the battery life will be.

Wonder if there will be an unlocked version available for other carriers. I can't wait til my contract is up with AT&T. I'm fed up with paying 120 a month for my plan. That, and the Nexus One I have is a TMobile compatible version which only gets 2G on AT&T.

Wonder what Apple thinks of this? So far, AT&T hasn't had a single phone that competes with the 4G spec-wise. Now there's something that blows it out of the water....

AT&T kicks Verizon's and Sprint's asses again.

That's not AT&T's fault. That's your fault. They sold both T-Mobile & AT&T 3G banded Nexus One's.

& Apple knows that they aren't going to stay on top forever. Just give it a matter of time. Apple keeps saying they are bringing "innovative" features. But they keep adding things other phones have already had. Like Facetime for example.

I wouldn't say AT&T kicks anyones asses, but it sure has some nice ass phones coming their way. But I think Thursday is when Verizon has their press conference. So wait till then, and you should see what Verizon has to say.
