Overclocking Nvidea cards and the best card(580)

Hey guys, So it needs to be a reference card for a waterblock dosent it, ok so what are my options? is the Asus out of the question? they only have one card out ATM.
I mean which one allows the highest voltage?(are they all the same the reference cards?) Does anyone know the max voltge for the Asus 580? and MSI 580?

I was a ATI man before this and I allways went for Asus Non-reference Voltage controll cards, because to my knowledge they allowed the highest voltage.

Also Is overclocking Nvidia cards much different to ATI? someone said something about setting things in the bios?
Is that the same as say smart doctor? or is that like a bios like the PC bios?

Sorry guys alot of questions but im learning!

Sir Overkill

First all cards should overclock about the same as they are indeed all reference right now..
No card AFAIK allow higher voltage than any other 580, But you could flash the bios on the card with a bios with an unlocked voltage cap ... Probably the "settings in bios" you heard people talking about. ..

And its really not that much different at all the overclocking ATI.. Bump speed, test, bump, test, bump test... The shader and core are linked and overclock together with the 4xx/5xx cards.....

Hope I got it all lol

1.212 maximum allowed using NibiTor. Advanced users have ways around this, of course.

Hex editing the BIOS is the workaround. Allows for additional stability when going above and beyond 1100 MHz .

I THINK 1.212 volt is about as high as you wanna get. kinda the same as 1.4 volt for cpu.

As a reference, I need 1.188v for 1000/4500, 1.213v for 1015/4560 and 1.30v for anything at, or above 1100/4550.
