Cant boot after move from intel to AMD

Hi Guys,

I really really need some help, My little bro had a crappy p4 478 system, so i bought a MSI K8N NEO2 motherboard, as he already had a decent AGP card and a 3800.

Put it all together and it boots to the windows 7 load up screen and restarts, i cant even get into the Safe mode, as it restarts.

Is there any software out there that can help?

P.S ive tried start up repair but i cant find the correct drivers on the disc either :/

Thanks

You will have to do a complete reinstall after a total rebuild like this. Put the old system back together and backup all the files you need on to a separate drive or thumb drive. Then build the new PC and do a fresh install.

You might be able to grap the chipset drivers from MSI directly, but in the end a fresh install will be needed.

Reinstall windows on the hard drive as mentioned by franz. When Windows 7 says its "registering components" thats exactly what its doing. SO you will need to install Windows 7 with the components your brother has.

as franz says a reinstall will be needed after such a massive change, you may need a new windows key if the old one is OEM
