advice for a new build?

This is a work computer, so I'm not likely to do any OCing with it, but I do need reliable, quality components. The work I do is very processor and RAM intensive--nothing else much matters.

Because of our purchasing department, I'm also limited to tigerdirect.com, pcconnection.com, and cdwg.com. My budget should ideally stay under $2,000, and that includes a monitor and 4x 1TB HDD for use in a RAID 10 array.

I'm more or less decided on the i7 870 quad. I need 4 cores, and I don't see anything else at a price point that makes sense.

So... first question:

For ATX boards I'm basically stuck with one of:
1. Gigabyte P55-UD3
2. Gigabyte H55-USB3 rev 2.0
3. EVGA H55
4. ASUS P7H57D-V-EVO
5. ASUS P7F-X
6. ASUS P7P55D-E

So which of these would you recommend?

I'm a bit out of the loop as I haven't spec'd a system out since like a month after the introduction of LGA 1366.

I was under the impression things were moving towards 1156 as being the standard for intel? Or do you think 1366 would be a better option? The i7 920 is equivalently priced to the 870, so that'd be fine, if it would open up my MB options.

Neither. Go with the soon to be released 1155 socket.

I would take an i7 2600k(could also go with regular version), 8GB(or whatever amount you need) of RAM, 4x Samsung F3 1TB HDD's etc.

I recomend you look at the new socket 1155 sandybridge i7 cpu's and mobo's
if it's cpu power your after at a very reasonable price. Check out the reviews all over this forum they have awsome multitasking performance, And are brand new to be released i believe tomorrow. Great timming!

1156 and 1366 are soon to be shelved
