If you want the support of Nvidia Fan-boys get the GTX580s. People that go Ati 90% of the time are not fanboys. From last generation GTX580 only added a bit of performance, HD 6970 added a bit of performance, tessellation performance, and much better CFX scaling. Aslo keep in mind there are still not proper ATi drivers yet for HD 69XX out. If you want to spend 260$ more for 5fps wen both setups are getting over 100fps its ur call. From what i see it seems you are favoring the GTX580s and i am ok with that as long as ur are happy others opinions mean nothing.

This post says to me, "ATI fanboy."

There are not proper drivers for the 5xx series yet.

SLI AA, completely destroys anything ATI has to offer.

Your DX11 is crap.

My last card was an ATI 5970, it was a great OCer (up to 1000Mhz), but every time a new game came out CFX was buggy until I had beaten the game 50 times and they finally made a decent CFX profile for it.

i appreciate your mature response, i do, i only favor nvidia a wee-bit more because there technology is less glitchy and i hear nothing but good things with nvidia. Im not a fanboy nor support fanboyism, when it comes to graphics cards, i support great gaming and quality, i love ATI, been with them for years, but scaling and driver support is my main concern, it just seems that every computer game is created with nvidia in mind for some reason, they just go hand in hand. The only thing ill get a little fanboy in is the battle between xbox 360 and Ps3, and in that case, XBOX FTW! lol....but in the grfx card world, i just support good cards, will i be saving more money with ATI/AMD? Sure, but they just seem so, idk, technologically undeveloped at times, when i watched the release of the GTX 580 online the features i saw were amazing! The whole time i was like, "omg, what did he just say? I didnt even know that was possible!",lol....and if you look at alot of forums, many people are disappointed with the 69xx series because it didnt live up to the hype that was put out for it.....are there crazy nvidia fanboys? Yes, but at the same time you can find just as many crazy ATI fanboys, its just a matter of your own perspective. I just feel that more could have been done with the 69xx series, i feel they didnt go to there full potential, and that they held back a little, but everywhere you look, on every site, thread, blog, discussion, article, it always ends up saying in all caps and bold letters that, "NVIDIA YET AGAIN CREATED THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL GPU!!!"....i was truly amazed with the performance in metro 2033 with the 580 SLI, if you look at Linus tech tips on youtube the game ran smooth as butter, no microstutter of any kind, just smooth sailing the whole time, metro brings video cards to there knees, but with the 580, metro bowed down to the 580 and crawled into the fetal position crying to stop rapin it!lol.

Both 5xx series and 6xxx series are an upgrade to previous series.
Both show performance increase in all aspects.
Both still don't have 100% perfect drivers.

I agree that if its about money, get the 6970/6950.
If its about performance, and it means that those 5 FPS means you can play at 8AA instead of 4AA, get the 580/570.

Also, just a side note: I don't favor nvidia.

But I prefer buying stronger card, and a bit mature history of drivers.
If AMD brings out next year a nutty bad boy of a card, with good drivers and great scaling, I will switch back to AMD.

I used to have AMD when their cards were great, and cheap, and drivers were awesome.
But in time, and especially in the last 1.5 years, they went down hill with performance and drivers, and the eyefinity still isn't implemented well, even tho you can cross-use different monitors unlike nvidia.

If they step up, I will move to them again.
They are cheaper and you can do 4-way crossfire without the need for special motherboards, which is great in my book.

Yeah this review clearly shows how well the 580 vs 6970 is.
Even at 2560X1600 the 580 and even the 570 are superior to AMD's top gpus.
