Overclocking for Folding

Thread Starter
I realize that upping the shaders helps folding the most. I'm wondering if the WUs will be counted as failed if I have OCed my card to the point where it artifacts but does not shut down? I can go a lot higher in this case and pull more PPD.

As long as you are not failing work units just keep overclocking the shaders.

If the units are completing without errors you should be ok. Just check the logs to see if they're being submitted and counting. That kind of instability is usually heat related instead of clock/voltage based so increasing the cooling may help too.

in my experiences FAH is usually the first to start failing with high oc's; like before you even start seeing artifacting.

Also when oc'ing it i'd recommend testing at the start of a WU too. As sometimes when FAH fails it'll just dump your work, sometimes you'll get partial points, other times you get nothing. So if it's just at the lower end of the percentage not much lost.
