And you thought MONSTER was the one ripping you off? HA! - Page 5

I avoid BB like a plague. Absolutely nothing they sale is less than anywhere else on the planet. The only time I'll get something from them is at a brick and mortar if I'm out and I know that whatever it is is about the same price as online. Screw them otherwise.

I do need to befriend one of their employees though.

What I am saying is that these cables that cost more because they are "Ultra High Speed" is a bunch of crap.

If you want an HDMI cable, go find the cheapest one you can find and use that. because it will give your TV the same picture that the 500 dollar monster cable will give you.

Without the incredible markup on these products you would never have worked there because Best Buy wouldn't exist.

If people are ignorant and or too lazy to spend a little time researching the products they plan on purchasinglt then that is their faut.

you realize that one thing has nothing to do with the other one?

HE being lay off doesn't have nothing to do with the prices BB sells...

Pretty sad, tbh.

I almost want to cry when people come in and buy our "colored HDMI cables" for $100 a piece at 4 feet each... I've had people buy 3+ AT ONE TIME, I feel terribly sad for them.
What are you talking about? Nearly all HDMI cables are from China, including Monster's.

LOL THANKS FOR BEING THE THIRD PERSON TO POST THIS AND COMPLETELY IGNORING WHAT I SAID, YES, AN HDMI CABLE HAS NO QUALITY DIFFERENCE BUT EVEN GIMMICKY RESOURCES PUT INTO THESE CABLES CAN DRIVE UP COST SIMPLY BECAUSE IT COSTS.. MONEY, YES, M O N E Y TO PUT THE MATERIALS INTO THE CABLE.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT A bare bones, coated HDMI cable is going to have much less of a justifiable price with one that boasts reliable, thick insulation / Sleeving / gold connectors / whatever else they slap onto it.

Seriously, get some sense.

I got laid off because I worked as seasonal with the promise that I "had the job" after the season.

You can't correlate me being bitter about losing my job to my attitude at work, it doesn't work. At all.

Sure, from the start I realized how much of a rip some of their products are but that doesn't mean it effected my attitude and/or workmanship, Anyone with an ounce of sanity would have to at least realize that these prices are a little jacked up.

And yes, thankyou for explaining to me how much BB makes on computers/videogames/televisions, I totally didn't know and we aren't trained to sell accessories off the bat when someone buys one of these things to drive up profit.

Just a heads up: Video games, Movies, Computers, Televisions are driven up a bit but their sale costs are usually sold at employee discount prices or even lower (See: Splinter Cell Conviction for $9.99 last week)

I dare you to make up an excuse as to why a $12 (Employee discount) television mount is being marked up to $80. Before you even start I'll help you out: Its an impossible task! There is no reason at all.

There is a difference between "Markup for profit" and "ludicrous pricing".

Because nobody has brought proper effective legislation through Congress to police such things.

And the consumer entity in near entirety is pretty oblivious.

Didn't read the rest of the thread to see if this has been posted but, cost does not equal RPM or even MSRP.

You do know what scientific measurements are right?
Good to know you didn't even read the thing.
