hi ocn,

i have a problem with a amd msi board K9N neo V3 its giving me a 2 consecutive beeps and 6 beeps afterwards. i have no video output the person that im fixing it for has a tight budget and i cant really afford to send him on a trial and error shopping run lol. did some research and some say its video card some say its keyboard and some say its ram (i got this info based on doing post code research) i was hoping someone here can narrow it down

thanks in advance ocn

First 2 beeps is a ram parity error in the first 64k of memory. Basically, bad ram. Memtest the sticks. Problem is usually in the first slot. If the memory tests good, the mobo is shot.
The 6 beeps after those is a keyboard (A20 gate) error. Replace the keyboard. If that doesn't work, the controller is shot, replace the mobo.
