For those of us that have the old style, you can order the new style replacement from Klipsch for about $30. But if your still under warranty you can get a new style for free. But they've been using the new style for awhile.

Cool! Does the L shaped control style fix the crackling/staticky noise when turning the volume? Also do you have a link to the $30 fix?

Awesome. So it's definitely worth the money?
I'm asking this so much because if I get them, it'll be my first "real" set of speakers. I've been using cheap headphones and my monitor speakers for ever. I want to make sure I'm getting something worthwhile.

They are 100% worth the $150 i dropped on them. Replaced a set of Logitech x-530s and there is no comparison.

The bass is extremely deep and coupled with dedicated tweeters, the set sounds very balanced.

I read somewhere, when i was researching them, that setting the subwoofer knob to around 10-11 o'clock yields the best/most balanced sound. From my experience this is accurate 90% of the time for me. Some songs i can crank it up while other songs i need to turn it down, but turning the knob all the way on gives the sub more than it can handle and it sounds bad.

The crackling went away with time for me. I've had my set for about 9 months, and reading your post i remember having some crackling/static when i first got my set but i completely forgot about it since it has since disappeared.

Before you do anything please look at craigslist for some. I just looked in my surrounding area and I found two different sellers selling them BNIB for $80 and $65.

I don't trust a person (with my money and their "product") unless I can talk to them face to face. Call it being smart with my money, or whatever you want. lol.
